Head of Software Engineering

Netsuisse builds European technology for the Smart Workforce across three fields — MOVE (e-mobility), CONNECT (telecommunications) and WORK (building & IT solutions) — on one platform with a shared data layer: workforceOS. The group is Swiss-rooted, with locations in Villmergen (Zurich), Barcelona and Edinburgh, and operates a wholesale and B2B model serving partners and customers.

As Head of Software Engineering, you own the architecture and technical direction of workforceOS. Together with the Product Manager, you translate the product roadmap into a technical roadmap, set engineering standards and ensure the platform scales reliably — deployable on-premise, hybrid or in the cloud. You write and review production code yourself and build out the engineering function as the team grows. In an initial phase, the role also owns netsuisse studio, an AI-driven development platform that is evolving towards low-code/no-code tooling for business analysts.

You work closely with a software engineer and a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Barcelona, and act as the technical counterpart for colleagues in Switzerland and the UK. The role is on-site in the Barcelona office at 60–100%.

The position offers technical ownership of a live platform, real influence on its architecture, and a leadership path as the engineering function grows. You get an uncommon technical breadth — e-mobility, telecommunications, building technology and AI on one platform — with short decision paths and close collaboration with product and group management within a Swiss-rooted, internationally active group.
